Carole Dean Selected to Receive TheWIFTS Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award

Carole Dean, president of From the Heart Productions and founder of the Roy W. Dean Film Grant, has been chosen by TheWIFTS, The Women’s International Film and Television Showcase, to receive their 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award.

TheWIFTS searches out and honors outstanding women, who through their extraordinary efforts, continue to make a positive impact on society through film, television, and other professions. Previous winners include film producer Gale Ann Hurd, cosmetic industry CEO Elizabeth Grant, inner-city educator Millicent E. Hill, and film publicist Jacqueline Brodie.

“I thank TheWIFTS, for this tremendous honor that has gone to so many exceptional women”, commented Carole Dean. “My goal has always been to help others stand out and get the awards while I sit back and watch proudly. This is a strange, new, but wonderful experience for me.”

Carole Dean, president of From the Heart Productions and founder of the Roy W. Dean Film Grant, has been chosen by The Women’s International Film & Television Showcase (TheWIFTS) to receive TheWIFTS Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award (Film) 2012.

Oxnard, CA November 10, 2012 –Carole Dean will be honored at TheWIFTS Foundation International Visionary Awards ceremony held annually, with TheWIFTS Lifetime Achievement Award (Film) 2012. TheWIFTS searches out and honors outstanding women, who through their extraordinary efforts, continue to make a positive impact on society through film, television, and other professions. Previous winners from the film and television industry include film producer Gale Ann Hurd, (The Terminator) international Co-Production Television Pioneer Rola Bauer (The Pillars of the Earth) and film publicist Jacqueline Brodie. From other professions, in the cosmetic industry Founder & CEO Elizabeth Grant of Elizabeth Grant International, and inner-city educator Millicent E. Hill.

Carole Dean has helped filmmakers realize their dreams for over 4 decades. As founder of Studio Film & Tape, she pioneered buying back from production and reselling inexpensive film stock which helped spark the independent film industry in the 80’s. She created the Roy W. Dean Film Grant to aid filmmakers with projects that are unique and make a contribution to society. Now in its 20th year, it has provided over $2,000,000 in production services to aspiring filmmakers and spawned numerous award winning documentaries that might have otherwise never been made. Her 501(c)3 non-profit, From The Heart Productions, provides filmmaking advice and fiscal sponsorship to dozens of filmmakers each year. Her best-selling film financing book, “The Art of Film Funding” is now in its second edition.

is a 501(c)3 non-profit and runs the Roy W. Dean Film Grant. The grant is held 3 times each year in Spring, Summer, and Fall. From The Heart is also a fiscal sponsor for films as well. Because of its non-profit status, donations to the films they sponsor are tax free. Carole Dean is also available for private consultations on film financing, writing, and production.
